Why is hip mobility and flexibility so important?

Our hips are incredibly important for our muscle strength in many areas of the body.

In general, we spend too many hours sitting and have less activity. This impacts our hip mobility:

✅ by weakening the glutes and

by shortening the hip flexors (muscles that help you move or flex your leg and knee up towards your body)

When they’re weak or inactive, the lower back takes over

But the lower back, or the lumbar spine, isn’t designed for a ton of activity – it’s mainly there to provide support and stability.

5 Signs You Might Have Tight Hips

🔶 You have lower back pain.

🔶 You have knee and ankle pain.

🔶 You frequently get hamstring injuries.

🔶 You can’t sit cross-legged comfortably.

🔶 You can’t put on your shoes easily.

🔶  You feel that you have lost mobility and control of your body over the years.

Restore your hip mobility and flexibility and you will:

Improve your posture:

The pelvic tilt of the body helps determine the posture of the body. Since the hip flexor muscles directly control the lower body, it has a significant role in your body posture

You will rejuvenate:

Can you get up and down from the floor without using your hands? Can you sit cross-legged comfortably? How does your body feel when you’re tying your shoes? Through flexibility training, you can regain the mobility of someone 10 years younger

Avoid Injuries:

When your hips and hamstrings are tight, it creates an imbalance in your posture, so your movements will not be adequate, as your body will try to compensate for that bad posture, and this can cause injuries.

Reduce pain, stress and tension:

Lack of hip movement is a major factor in low back pain and knee pain.

The hips also reflect a lot of emotional aspects of ourselves, and can even get stuck in the hips, causing stress and tension.

Enjoy an active life:

If you are a frequent traveller, you will probably find that on more than one occasion there comes a time when you no longer know how to sit to be comfortable. This is due to poor mobility.
